At Early Foundation Childcare in Craigieburn, we believe some of the most important lessons children learn are the ones that help keep them safe beyond the classroom.

Recently, our children took part in a fun and engaging Water Safety Incursion with BlueFit Swimming, designed to introduce important water safety concepts in an age-appropriate, interactive and enjoyable way.

Throughout the session, children explored how to stay safe around water, recognise potential risks and build confidence through simple, practical water safety messages. By presenting these concepts through play, discussion and engaging activities, the BlueFit Swimming team helped make water safety education meaningful and easy for young children to understand.

For young children, developing an awareness of water safety is an important life skill. Experiences like this support children to build confidence, independence and an understanding of how to make safer choices around pools, beaches and other aquatic environments.

At Early Foundation Childcare, incursions form an important part of our play-based early learning program. Bringing experienced community educators into the centre gives children opportunities to explore new ideas and develop practical skills while remaining in a familiar and supportive environment.

A big thank you to the BlueFit Swimming team for providing such an educational and enjoyable experience for our children.

We look forward to continuing to offer meaningful incursions and learning experiences that support the wellbeing, confidence and development of every child at EFC.
