Celebrating Early Childhood Educators Day at EFC Craigieburn
Celebrating Book Week at EFC
Book Week is always a wonderful opportunity to bring stories, imagination and creativity to life — and this year at Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn, our children and educators had plenty of fun doing exactly that.
Throughout the day, children arrived dressed as some of their favourite book and story characters, filling the centre with colour, creativity and excitement.
Bringing Favourite Characters to Life
From much-loved storybook characters to imaginative costumes, the children loved having the opportunity to dress up and share who they had chosen to be.
Dress-up experiences like these give children the chance to explore imagination, self-expression and storytelling in a fun and engaging way.
Our educators joined in too, dressing up as different characters and helping make the day feel even more special for the children.
Story Time, Songs and Lots of Fun
Of course, Book Week wouldn’t be complete without plenty of stories.
Our educators spent time reading books with the children, enjoying group story-time experiences and talking about characters, pictures and the different adventures found within each story.
The day also included songs, music and group activities, giving the children lots of opportunities to participate, communicate and enjoy stories in different ways.
Supporting Early Literacy Through Play
At EFC, reading and storytelling are an important part of children’s everyday learning.
Books help young children develop language and communication skills, build vocabulary, explore emotions and ideas, and discover new people, places and experiences.
By combining reading with imaginative play, music and dress-ups, children can engage with stories in ways that are meaningful, memorable and enjoyable.
A Fun Day for Children and Educators
One of the things we loved most about our Book Week celebration was seeing both the children and educators fully involved.
There was plenty of laughter, creativity and excitement across the centre, and it was wonderful seeing everyone come together to celebrate a shared love of books and storytelling.
At Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn, we want learning to be something children genuinely enjoy — and Book Week was another opportunity to make learning fun, interactive and full of imagination.
