SUMMARY:A Magical Storytelling Visit from Craigieburn Library
DESCRIPTION:A Magical Storytelling Visit from Craigieburn Library\nThere’s something special about watching a group of young children become completely absorbed in a story. \nOur children at Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn recently enjoyed a wonderful storytelling incursion with a storyteller from Craigieburn Library\, bringing books\, imagination and plenty of curious little listeners into our learning environment. \nBuilding a Love of Books and Storytelling \nThroughout the session\, the children listened\, responded and became involved in the stories being shared. \nStorytelling experiences like this provide children with opportunities to develop their listening\, communication and early literacy skills\, while also encouraging imagination\, creativity and a lifelong love of books. \nFor our younger children\, simply listening to expressive language\, sounds and repetition supports their growing understanding of words and communication. For our older children\, stories encourage conversation\, questions\, predictions and opportunities to share their own ideas. \nMost importantly\, it was fun. The children were engaged\, curious and excited to see where each story would take them next. \nConnecting Children With Their Local Community \nAt EFC\, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are able to connect with the wider community around them. \nWelcoming Craigieburn Library into our centre introduced children to an important local community resource and helped create positive early experiences with books\, libraries and reading. \nThese connections also help children understand that learning doesn’t only happen inside their classroom — there are people\, places and experiences throughout their community that can help them discover something new. \nMore Than the Everyday Routine \nIncursions\, excursions and special visitors form part of the wider learning experiences we provide at Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn. \nWhether it’s storytelling\, community visitors\, cultural celebrations or hands-on learning experiences\, we want our children to have opportunities to explore different interests\, build confidence and engage with the world around them. \nA big thank you to Craigieburn Library for spending time with our children and creating such a warm and engaging storytelling experience. 📚💛 \nDiscover Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn \nIf you’re looking for childcare or kindergarten in Craigieburn where children can learn through meaningful experiences\, strong community connections and engaging early learning opportunities\, we’d love to welcome your family. \n2027 enrolments are now open for Long Day Care and 3 & 4 Year Old Kindergarten. \nGet in touch with our team or book a centre tour to experience EFC for yourself. \nEmbed Instagram link: https://www.instagram.com/p/Def7uZqkr3O/?img_index=1

SUMMARY:New Year’s Day
DESCRIPTION:New Year’s Day marks the beginning of a fresh and exciting year\, bringing with it a sense of renewal\, hope\, and new possibilities. At our centre\, we embrace this special occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to the experiences\, growth\, and learning that lie ahead for our children. \nAlthough many families celebrate New Year’s Day at home\, we acknowledge its importance by incorporating age-appropriate discussions and activities that introduce children to the concept of time\, change\, and new beginnings. Through simple conversations\, children are encouraged to share their thoughts about celebrations they may have experienced with their families\, helping to build confidence in communication and storytelling. \nIn the classroom\, we focus on themes such as “new beginnings” and “growing up.” Children may participate in creative activities like drawing pictures of things they enjoy or what they are excited about in the coming year. These activities support emotional expression and help educators understand each child’s interests and aspirations. \nWe also introduce basic concepts such as calendars\, days\, and months in a fun and engaging way. This helps children develop early numeracy and time awareness skills. Songs\, group discussions\, and storytelling sessions are used to make these ideas easy to understand and enjoyable. \nNew Year’s Day is also a time to reinforce values such as kindness\, sharing\, and friendship. Educators guide children in setting simple\, positive intentions\, such as being a good friend\, helping others\, or trying new activities. These small goals encourage social and emotional development and promote a positive learning environment. \nFor families\, this occasion is a wonderful opportunity to talk with children about traditions\, celebrations\, and the importance of spending time together. We encourage parents to share their cultural New Year traditions with us\, helping us create a diverse and inclusive learning space where every child feels valued. \nAs we welcome the new year\, our centre remains committed to providing a nurturing\, safe\, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. We look forward to another year filled with learning\, laughter\, and meaningful milestones.

SUMMARY:Centre Re-Opens
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome all our children and families back as our centre re-opens for the new year. This is an exciting time as we reconnect\, settle into routines\, and begin another year of learning\, growth\, and discovery together. \nReturning to the centre after a break can be both exciting and a little overwhelming for young children. Our educators understand this and focus on creating a warm\, welcoming environment that helps children feel safe and comfortable. We take time to gently reintroduce routines and provide reassurance\, allowing each child to settle at their own pace. \nThe first few days are centred around building relationships and re-establishing connections. Children are encouraged to share their holiday experiences\, whether it’s spending time with family\, travelling\, or simply enjoying time at home. These conversations help children develop communication skills and strengthen their sense of belonging within the group. \nOur educators also use this time to observe children’s interests and developmental needs\, ensuring that our learning programs are tailored to support each child effectively. Activities are designed to be engaging\, familiar\, and comforting\, helping children transition smoothly back into the learning environment. \nRe-establishing daily routines is an important part of this period. Consistent routines provide children with a sense of security and predictability\, which is essential for their emotional well-being. From group time to play-based learning and rest periods\, our structured yet flexible approach supports a balanced day. \nWe also place strong emphasis on social development during this time. Children are guided in rebuilding friendships\, practising sharing\, and participating in group activities. These interactions are key to developing confidence\, cooperation\, and empathy. \nFor new families joining us\, this is a wonderful opportunity to become part of our community. Our team is always available to support parents during the transition\, answer questions\, and ensure a smooth start for every child. \nWe look forward to a year filled with exciting learning opportunities\, creative exploration\, and joyful experiences. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we support your child’s early learning journey.
