SUMMARY:23 rd April – Playgroup Session
DESCRIPTION:Our First Free Community Playgroup in Craigieburn\nOn 23 April\, Early Foundation Childcare proudly welcomed local children and families to our very first free community playgroup in Craigieburn. \nIt was wonderful to see children visiting our early learning centre for the first time\, exploring the environment and confidently engaging in a range of play-based learning experiences. \nWe were also delighted to welcome Josie from Craigieburn Library\, who led a warm and engaging story-time session for the children. Families enjoyed stories\, bubbles and friendly conversations while getting to know other parents from the local community.\nThroughout the session\, children participated in: \n\nPainting and creative art\nHome-corner and imaginative play\nPuzzles and problem-solving activities\nCars and construction play\nPlaydough experiences\nInteractive group activities\n\nWhile the children played and explored\, families had the opportunity to meet our educators and learn more about our approach to early childhood education and care. Guests also enjoyed cardamom tea\, fresh sandwiches and snacks prepared by our centre chef. \nOur community playgroup is designed to give children a relaxed introduction to an early learning environment while helping parents connect with other local families. \nEarly Foundation Childcare is proud to support the Craigieburn community by creating opportunities for children to feel safe\, confident\, connected and ready to learn. \nLocation: Early Foundation Childcare\, 9–11 Hanson Road\, Craigieburn\nPlaygroup time: Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Mother’s Day with Our Craigieburn Families\nOn 15 May\, Early Foundation Childcare welcomed mothers\, fathers\, children and families for a warm and memorable Mother’s Day celebration. \nThe afternoon was filled with creative activities\, outdoor play\, delicious food\, laughter and meaningful moments shared between children and the important people in their lives. \nChildren and families enjoyed: \n\nArt and craft activities\nBracelet making\nPlaydough and colouring\nOutdoor play\nA family photo booth\nAfternoon tea and refreshments\nHandmade gifts created by the children\n\nOne of the most memorable parts of the event was our special mirror display\, which asked families\, “Who is the best mum?” \nWhen each mother opened the curtain\, she was greeted by her own reflection—a simple but meaningful reminder that every mum is valued and special. \nFamilies also enjoyed our pink tea\, inspired by traditional Kashmiri chai\, along with cupcakes\, fresh fruit and a range of finger foods. \nFamily events are an important part of life at Early Foundation Childcare. They help strengthen relationships between children\, parents and educators while creating a genuine sense of belonging within our Craigieburn childcare community. \nThank you to every family who joined us and helped make the afternoon so personal\, joyful\nand full of love.

DESCRIPTION:Learning About Healthy Teeth at Early Foundation Childcare\nOn 22 May\, children at Early Foundation Childcare enjoyed a special dental health visit focused on caring for their growing teeth and developing positive oral-hygiene habits. \nLayana\, a dental professional from Hanson Medical Centre\, visited our Craigieburn childcare centre to speak with the children about why healthy teeth are important. \nDuring the session\, children learned about: \n\nBrushing their teeth twice each day\nUsing toothpaste correctly\nThe role of flossing\nChoosing foods that support healthy teeth\nLimiting sugary foods and drinks\nVisiting the dentist regularly\n\nThe children also explored the correct way to brush their teeth and participated in age- appropriate conversations about keeping their smiles clean and healthy. \nHealth and wellbeing experiences like this help children become more confident\, independent and aware of how they can care for their own bodies. They also allow educators to reinforce important everyday routines through practical and engaging learning. \nAt Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn\, incursions and community visits form part of our broader early learning program\, helping children connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. \nThank you to Layana and Hanson Medical Centre for supporting this valuable learning\nopportunity for our children.

Educators use storytelling\, songs\, and visual materials to help children learn in an engaging and meaningful way. Activities may include exploring Australian wildlife\, creating art inspired by nature\, or learning about different cultural traditions. \nWe also take this opportunity to acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures\, which are an important part of Australia’s identity. Educators introduce children to these cultures through storytelling\, art\, and music\, ensuring that the information is shared in a respectful and age-appropriate manner. \nOur goal is to help children develop an early sense of belonging and understanding of diversity. By celebrating different cultures and perspectives\, we encourage children to appreciate differences and build respect for others. \nCreative activities play a big role in this celebration. DESCRIPTION:International Picnic Day at Early Foundation Childcare\nOn 18 June\, our children celebrated International Picnic Day with a joyful outdoor experience at Early Foundation Childcare Craigieburn.\nThe children gathered together to enjoy fresh air\, shared conversations and a healthy picnic treat of creamy vanilla yoghurt topped with chia seeds. \nInternational Picnic Day gave our educators an opportunity to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom and encourage positive social and wellbeing experiences. \nOutdoor picnic experiences can help children: \n\nConnect with nature\nDevelop friendships and social confidence\nPractise sharing and group participation\nEnjoy meals in a relaxed environment\nBuild positive associations with healthy food\nExperience learning in a different setting\n\nThe yoghurt and chia-seed snack also supported healthy eating discussions. Yoghurt provides calcium and protein to support children’s growth\, while chia seeds provide fibre and beneficial fats. \nThe children thoroughly enjoyed eating together\, sharing laughter and experiencing the simple pleasure of an outdoor picnic. \nAt Early Foundation Childcare\, our educational program includes special days and practical experiences that support children’s physical wellbeing\, social development and sense of belonging. \nInternational Picnic Day was another lovely opportunity for our little learners to explore\, connect and create happy memories together.
